Referral Program Terms

How momentarily's referral credits are earned, applied, and expire.

Effective August 31, 2026 · Version 2026-08-31

1. The Program

Members can share a personal invite link. When someone joins momentarily through that link and lists their first item, both people receive a $10 credit toward borrower service fees. These are the terms of that program. Participating in it — sharing a link, joining through one, or using a credit — is what makes them apply to you.

2. Earning a Credit

A referral counts when all of these are true: the new member's account is new (created within the last 7 days) when your invite link is applied to it, that account has never been referred before and has never had a listing, they aren't you, and they then publish their first listing. At that moment you each receive one $10 credit. One reward per invited account, ever — inviting more people earns more credits, but the same account can only ever be referred once, by one member.

Signing up alone earns nothing — the listing is the qualifying event. If the invited member never lists, no credit is issued to either side.

3. Using a Credit

Credits apply automatically when you create a booking (not to extensions of an existing booking), and they reduce momentarily's borrower service fee only— never the owner's rental price, cleaning fee, delivery fee, or your security deposit. The owner is paid exactly as if no credit existed; the credit comes out of our fee.

If your available credit is more than the service fee on a booking, the rest of the credit stays on your account for next time. Credits closest to expiring are used first. Because our payment processor has a minimum charge, a credit can never take a booking's total below $0.50.

4. Cancelled Bookings

If a booking dies before we earn the fee, the credit goes back on your account automatically: a declined or expired request, a request you withdrew, a cancellation in the full-refund window, or any cancellation by the owner. Restored credits keep their original expiry date. If a cancellation falls in a tier where the service fee is kept (see the Cancellation & Refund Policy), the credit stays used — it already reduced what you paid.

A booking that ends in a dispute keeps its credit used, whatever the dispute's outcome — dispute resolutions move the disputed money, not service-fee credits.

5. Expiry

Credits expire 12 months after they are earned. An expired credit simply stops applying; nothing else changes on your account.

6. No Cash Value

Credits have no cash value, are not redeemable for money, can't be transferred or sold, and don't accrue anything. They exist only as a reduction of borrower service fees on momentarily.

7. Fair Play

The program pays for genuinely new members, not manufactured ones. We may cancel or reverse credits that have not yet been spent on a booking, and refuse an account further participation in the program, where we determine referrals were manufactured: inviting yourself through another account, fake or duplicate accounts, listings created only to trigger the reward, or paid placement of invite links presented as personal recommendations. Conduct rules in the Community Guidelines and Terms apply to program activity like anything else on momentarily.

8. Changes and Ending the Program

We can change these program terms, change the reward for future referrals, pause the program, or end it, at any time. Credits already earned stay valid to their printed expiry under the terms in effect when they were earned. This page shows the current version; ask us at hello@momentarily.comand we'll tell you which version was in effect when any of your credits was earned.

9. Relationship to the Terms

The program is part of the momentarily service, so the Terms & Conditionsapply to it — including Section 22's dispute-resolution agreement. If these program terms and the Terms conflict about the program itself, these program terms control for that topic.

momentarily is a service of Project Kaz, LLC, a California limited liability company. On this page, "momentarily", "we", "us", and "our" mean that company.
